On behalf of our many generous donors, the Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation is pleased to present Northern Health with a Spring Grant totalling $709,539. This grant, together with the autumn grant, brings the total funds presented in the past fiscal year to Northern Health and many healthcare related partnerships to nearly $1.3 Million.
This grant to Northern Health was comprised of funds for equipment, education and enhancements to healthcare throughout the region. This includes funds for equipment placed in Mackenzie (automated medication dispensing unit, acute hospital and IPT furniture), Fort St. John (hemodialysis transonic monitor), Fraser Lake (cancer care pumps and syringes), and UHNBC (otoacoustic emission system, constellation vision system, OT pressure mapping system, cardiac pacemaker monitors, enteral feeding pumps, bone density measurement machine and the peripheral equipment for the new breast health imaging centre.
“Spirit of the North is grateful to our many donors who so generously provide funds to better health outcomes in the region. The funds are graciously received through our sustainable supporters, sponsors, and those who support the events that are hosted as part of the Spirit’s community giving. Through these donations we are able to support Northern Health, other specialized healthcare agencies, and the education of healthcare workers,” said Judy Neiser, CEO for Spirit of the North. “We could not do this without such tremendous support – we are truly thankful.”
